Paysages de Macédoine. Leurs caractères, leur évolution à travers les documents et les récits des voyageurs

The first part attempts to trace the history of landscapes in Eastern Macedonia in the Middle Ages, based on the study of present-day landscapes and their dynamics, the testimony of travelers in modern times and, above all, the archives of Athos in the Middle Ages. A 1:200,000 full-colour map on the outside of the text compares the landscape as seen by travellers with that of today. The second part is a detailed inventory of the inhabited places mentioned by these travellers.
