Fiscalité et société en Égypte byzantine

In this book are collected some papyrological articles written between 1972 and 2005, on Byzantine Egypt. Most have been edited by the author, with a bibliographical updating. Presented in their chronological order, they deal with Late Roman institutions, – pagarchy, buccellarii, circus, army –, Byzantine and early Arabic taxation, agrarian relations – Byzantine large estates ; land register of Aphrodito ; the budget of the city of Antaeopolis – ; the documentary use of the codex; as well as a recent reassessement of private petitions.
